Director Vetrimaaran reacts to Jr NTR’s request about making a Tamil film with him

Tamil director Vetrimaaran responded to actor Jr NTR’s wish to work in a film with him. While speaking to a journalist recently, the popular filmmaker said he had already been in talks with the Telugu superstar about a film. The director highlighted that a film with the RRR can be expected once both of them are done with their current commitments.
Speaking to Prakash, an independent journalist, the director said they had discussed an idea before and they might meet again. Vetrimaaran said, “I had met Jr NTR before and discussed an idea. Let’s finish our current commitments. Then, we will meet and talk.” When asked if the script was ready, he said, “No, we just spoke”.
Earlier, during a promotional event for his latest film Devara: Part I, Jr NTR expressed his desire to work with Vetrimaaran. He told the media that he respects the director’s filmmaking style and would love to do an out-and-out Tamil film if he agrees to get him on board.
He said, “I am going to ask my favourite director, Vetrimaaran Sir, please do one with me. Let’s do a straight Tamil film, and we can later dub it into Telugu.” His honesty and love for the celebrated Tamil director won the hearts of the Tamil audience.
Vetrimaaran is a five-times National Award-winning director. His second directorial, the 2011 Tamil film Aadukalam, which starred Dhanush in the lead, won six National Awards. The director is known for telling unique stories with equal importance to critical and commercial reception. Some of his celebrated works include Polladhavan, Visaranai, Vada Chennai and Asuran, among others.
The director is currently busy with the post-production work of Viduthalai Part Two. He is also yet to begin working on Vaadivasal with Tamil actor Suriya.
Meanwhile, Jr NTR’s Devara, also starring Janhvi Kapoor, is hitting the screens on September 27. The actor is working on War 2 next with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. The YRF film, which is a part of the spy-universe, is being directed by Ayan Mukerji. He also has Prashanth Neel’s Dragon in the pipeline.
