Description
A wonderful high fashion vintage early 1950s hat from Phil Strann of California. MAde of a mix of straws, both natural and faux, in shaded of black and golden tan. Deep crown and wide brim, with the brim being a bit floppy which creates a sort of ruffled effect on my mannequin. I think on a head with a big pouf of hair it would sit more "out" in the brim. This would look smashing with your vintage 1950s or early 1960s suit or evening wear. Fresh from a Beverly Hills estate. Please ask if you need more details.
I show the hat on a full sized millinery head, the head is not included.
Thank you!

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have been contacted by several lookers here on Ebay, trying to "correct" me on the dating for this hat. They are wrong, (sorry but true) as this hat does indeed date to 1961-1962. While The clothing line Miss Dior was not launched until 1967, the Miss Dior name was originally attached to perfume in the 1950s, and by 1961 it also was the label for a line of ready-to-wear hats designed and sold by the House of Dior. If you still have doubts, you can find advertisements for Miss Dior hats in major fashion magazines of the day. Thank you
