Hollow in the back creating the look of a solid piece of wood, but without the weight or difficulty of installation
Not included is hardware to mount the hanger rail. It is necessary to purchase hardware that is appropriate for your specific mounting surface. For example, brick requires a different mounting hardware than drywall.
MDF is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be add to.   If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.
