    Description

Rarity High 7 (4 to 6 existent).  Struck in copper with a reeded edge.  William Barber's Seated Liberty design for the Standard Silver series.  The obverse features a seated Liberty posed with shield, pole, and a small cap.  The reverse carries the denomination inside an agricultural wreath of corn and cotton with STANDARD above.  A strange combination of dies as United States of America does not appear on either side.  The obverse has turned a beautiful deep iridescent blue and magenta while the reverse is orangey-copper at the center and migrates through magenta to blue at the rim.  A gorgeous piece!
