All surrounds can be installed with any combination of flush or raised hearths, flat stock trim around the inside next to the firebox, overmantels. These are not included and are listed separately. Heights are adjustable by cutting the legs to length during installtion.
All items are available in two different materials, Paint Grade Gypsum and Traverstone.  They may be pictured in either or both but each material is listed and sold separately.  It is not just a matter of finish, they are two totally different products.
Traverstone is a h
and packed fiberglass reinforced Portland Cement based product which looks like natural stone.  The tighter it is packed the fewer distress marks and the looser, the more marks.  It does not require a finish of any type but can be stained for color and may put a clear matte finish on it to protect it from accidental staining.  The normal color is Sahara Sand which is designed to match tumbled travertine.  There is a 5% up-charge for custom colors.   I do not sell optional colors other then Western White.  If you want a pure white surround it requires a white silica sand which HearthCo, Inc. stocks in small quantities.  Otherwise you can obtain the shade you want by tinting the Sahara Sand color.  You can go darker but not lighter.  I don't sell the optional colors because we can not guarantee a color match.  It is made of natural occurring stone material and each piece takes the staining differently.
Gypsum is a fiberglass reinforced gypsum product which is poured and has a smooth finish.  It is similar to plaster but harder.  It must be painted to seal the pores and keep the water content from evaporating.  Failure to paint it voids the warranty and will eventually cause a dusty finish to appear.  Any paint will do, the world's cheapest is fine, so long as it seal the pores.  It does not need to be heat resistant.
