Ambrose and published in 1997. It deals with Allied soldiers moving in from the Normandy beaches, and through Europe (between June 7, 1944 and May 7, 1945). In addition to telling short stories of countless soldiers experiencing the war, the author also explains the events before telling the stories. He interviewed dozens of soldiers in the making of the book.

Including a protective coin capsule. (These capsules are about by themselves) The black ring inside the coin capsule is a padding of sorts that prevents the coin from moving side to side also as is in the case here if the fit is very good it prevents the coin moving up and down. So… in this case the padding is doing it’s job and the coin doesn’t slide, jump, or move at all. The capsule is made from acid free chemically inert or otherwise neutral material intended for coin collections. So after 50 years, the coin should still look the same.
Now, why do I have these? Well, I collect and put together WW2 display cases. I like the subject. Sometimes you can’t get everything you might want for a display case, or the things you might want just won’t physically fit into a display. Ah-Ha. A modern substitute/example can be made to serve/represent a unit or event or even time period. Occasionally I change the listed category from Millitaria to Numismatics and maybe back again. It should only qualify under modern Numismatics.
